Bosnian/Croatian/Montenegrin/Serbian

 

Bosnian/Croatian/Montenegrin/Serbian language classes are taught in Bern by Deana Mandic Antic.

 

Audience

The language course is aimed at all students, who want to learn the language spoken in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.

 

Course Structure

A complete course cycle consists of six semesters.

 

Bosnian/Croatian/Montenegrin/Serbian I (Beginner)

Two semesters for beginners without previous knowledge – 3 lessons per week.

The course teaches basic grammatical knowledge and communicative skills (listening comprehension, reading, written and oral expression). In addition, students deal with the peculiarities of Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian, and practice the Cyrillic alphabet (reading and writing). At the end of the course, students have learned to express themselves comprehensibly in everyday situations and to write simple texts.

Bosnian/Croatian/Montenegrin/Serbian II

Two semesters for advanced learners – 3 lessons per week.

(This course is aimed at students, who have already completed the cours BKMS I or who have sufficient previous knowledge)

This course is aimed at advanced learners, who already have an adequate knowledge of the Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian language. The skills that have already been acquired in the fields of vocabulary, grammar, conversation and grammatical structures will be extended.

At the end of the course, students will be able to express themselves in everyday situations (written and spoken language) and to understand and write more complex texts.

Bosnian/Croatian/Montenegrin/Serbian III (Advanced)

Two semesters for advanced learners – 2 lessons per week.

(This course is aimed at students, who have already completed the courses BKMS I and BKMS II or who have sufficient previous knowledge)

BKMS III is an advanced course for those who already know BKMS very well. The course consists of two hours per week. In this course, knowledge and language competency is extended and deepened. Students learn to write complex texts on various topics. Materials (literary and other texts) are provided by the lecturer, with an emphasis on grammar.

 

After every semester, students will take a written exam.
