Dr. Nataliia Kovtun passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025.
We mourn the loss of our dear colleague and friend, who had been a lecturer in Slavic Linguistics (Ukrainian) at the Institute of Slavic Languages and Literatures in Bern since 2023.
We are grateful for her extraordinary commitment to (Ukrainian) linguistics and especially for the time we were able to spend with her.
The teams of Slavistics and Eastern European Studies Bern-Fribourg organise a memorial ceremony at the Institute of Slavic Languages and Literatures (Unitobler, 3rd floor) on November 27th, 2025, at 4 pm.
We will miss Nataliia Kovtun and share in the great loss of her family.
