Deana Antic studied History of Yugoslavian Literature and Serbocroatian Language at the University of Sarajevo. She wrote her masters' thesis on "The Role of Enlightenment of Dositej Obradovic". She taught literature and serbocroation language in different secondary schools in former Yugoslavia.
Between 2001 and 2005, Deana Antic worked as an intercultural interpreter for Serbian/Croation/Bosnian at Linguadukt in Bern.
Since 2008, Deana Antic has worked as a lecturer at the University of Bern.
