Biography
Maria Chevrekouko studied Iberoromance languages and Russian studies at the Moscow State University and translation studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin. As of 2006, she works as a lecturer of Russian at the University of Basel, and as of 2011 as a Russian teacher at the Münchenstein High School. In addition to her teaching, she is a publicist, interpreter and cultural mediator.
She attaches great importance to connecting teaching and research with professional practice. At the University of Bern, she is a member of scientific staff for the "UnVergessen" project (in German).
